“Festa patronale di Santa Chiara”, Marina Marciana,Livorno 11 Agosto 2017
L’11 Agosto si terrà presso Marina Marciana, Livorno, la Festa patronale di Santa Chiara. Chiara Scifi nasce ad Assisi fra il 1193 e il 1194 da una famiglia nobile. Fin dall’inizio dimostra di avere un carattere forte ed indipendente e manifesta il suo interesse per gli insegnamenti di San Francesco. All’età di 18 anni scappa di casa e si unisce ai frati minori. Francesco la accoglie, le taglia i capelli e le fa indossare il saio francescano. Da lì a poco le offre una residenza fuori dalla chiesa di San Damiano, ma poco distante da lì, ove Chiara vive per 42 anni. Fonda una famiglia di monache che vivono secondo i precetti di Francesco, in povertà e clausura. L’ ordine inizialmente detto “delle povere recluse” fu poi battezzato delle Clarisse in suo onore.
Nel 1958 papa Pio XII la proclama patrona universale della televisione. La spiegazione e riconducibile al fatto avvenuto nel Natale del 1252 quando Chiara ha avuto una visione mistica della celebrazione della messa, alla quale non poteva partecipare in quanto inferma.
Chiara è la Patrona della città di Marina di Marciana (Li) dove in occasione dell’anniversario per la sua morte hanno luogo una serie di eventi.
Le manifestazioni iniziano l’11 con il trofeo della santa, cui segue la messa. Al termine delle celebrazioni ha luogo la processione con la statua che percorre il lungomare e poi, posizionata su un’imbarcazione raggiunge la punta della madonnina.
I festeggiamenti proseguono anche per la giornata del 12 e quest’anno si chiudono con i giochi pirotecnici organizzati da Pyroemotion srl, vincitori di prestigiosi premi internazionali.
