“Anna Magnani” di Rachele Morris e Marcella Onzo, Edizioni Becco Giallo
Partiamo dal presupposto che per interpretare a fumetti la vita di personaggi realmente vissuti ci vuole una discreta abilità, soprattutto se non si vuol cadere nello scontato e nel banale.
Compito ancora più arduo quando a essere oggetto di interesse sono personalità di un certo calibro, come appunto Anna Magnani, dell’esempio in questione.
Prima di affrontare la lettura della graphic novel ho sentito la necessità di approfondire la mia conoscenza su questa icona del cinema italiano.
E posso onestamente dire che il lavoro delle due giovani ed esordienti illustratrici mi è piaciuto molto, per varie ragioni.

Ho trovato innanzitutto azzeccata la scelta stilistica di disegnare vignette in bianco e nero, espediente che “drammatizza”, la vicenda avvicinandola maggiormente alla sfera reale della vita dell’artista.
Inoltre, la scelta di non eccedere nei dettagli, di disegnare in modo “asciutto” è un modo utile per focalizzare l’attenzione del lettore solo sui personaggi (o per meglio dire sulle persone), della vicenda.
Anche i dialoghi, contenuti nei baloon, sono essenziali, sintetici, ma esaustivi ai fini della comprensione dell’intera vicenda.
Credo che per le illustratrici la parte più ardua del lavorò sia stata la scelta di quali parti biografiche rappresentare in fumetti… Anche in questo caso hanno individuato quelli che sono stati i nodi “cruciali” della vita della Magnani, fondamentali per la sua crescita personale e professionale.
Mi sono infine piaciuti molto i salti temporali all’interno della narrazione. Sono utili innanzitutto perché creano movimento e suspance. Hanno inoltre il pregio di mettere in evidenza la connessione fra eventi dislocati temporalmente in periodi diversi.
La figura della nonna, sicuramente la più importante della vita di Anna, è presente in modo continuo, sia fisicamente che come “voce fuoricampo”, che fa da sottofondo, come una canzone nel corso della storia.
La lettura di questa graphic novel mi ha molto coinvolta, e mi ha colpito la capacità che hanno avuto le due giovani disegnatrici partenopee, nel rendere il senso drammatico, amaro e sarcastico che Anna Magnani aveva dentro e fuori dal set. Sono state in grado di mettere in scena la ” Nannarella” sia pubblica che privata, cogliendone gli aspetti più salienti. Un ottimo esordio direi!
