“Superba è la notte” di Alda Merini

“Superba è la notte” nasce da una raccolta di lettere che Alda Merini invia all’editore Einaudi e ad altri destinatari, nell’arco temporale cha va dal 1996 al 1999.
Non essendo stato possibile dare un ordine cronologico al materiale, i curatori hanno optato per un criterio legato all’omogeneità tematica e stilistica dell’opera.
Alda cavalca il mito di Orfeo e lo fa suo, dando vita ad una produzione poetica caratterizzata da improvvisi sbalzi, variazioni linguistiche e tematiche, ma mantenendo presente e costante il suo canto a volte cupo e spesso ironico.
Il mito di Orfeo, che per primo scende nell’Ade per salvare Euridice e ritorna, solo, a raccontare agli uomini cosa accade all’inferno.
Alda Merini trova la via, il mezzo, attraverso il quale esprimere il suo personale trascorso negli inferi: la poesia.
Alda Merini
Nasce a Milano il 21 Marzo 1931 in una famiglia dalle condizioni economiche modeste.
Esordisce come autrice all’età di 15 anni e grazie ad Angelo Romanó viene presentata a Giacinto Spagnoletti, colui che la guiderà nell’espressione del suo talento.
Nel 1947 viene internata per un mese nella clinica di Villa Turro a Milano, dove le diagnosticano un disturbo bipolare.
Da allora si alternano nel corso della sua vita, periodi di salute mentale ad altri di internamento.
Ma Alda continua a scrivere e, almeno inizialmente, le persone che la circondano ancora ne vedono e ne riconoscono il talento.
Lei stessa utilizza, probabilmente in modo involontario, il suo disturbo come fonte di ispirazione. Si tratta di una particolare predisposizione alla vita, di una fonte a cui attingere. Non se ne vergogna. Non si isola. Ma ne scrive a proposito.
Pubblica con Bompiani nel 1953 l’opera in prosa “La pazza della porta accanto” con chiaro riferimento alla sua esperienza personale.
“La Terra Santa”
Il suo capolavoro “la Terra Santa” fu scritto a partire dal 1979 e oggetto di analisi è la terribile esperienza vissuta nell’ospedale psichiatrico.
Ci troviamo di fronte a testi drammatici e intensi, che le faranno vincere nel 1993 il Premio Librex Montale.
Quando nel 1983 muore Ettore Carniti, il primo marito, Alda rimane definitivamente sola. Ignorata già da tempo, dal mondo letterario, cerca di dar voce alla sua produzione e trova spazio solo nella rivista di Paolo Mauri, che le pubblica 30 poesie.
Grazie al secondo matrimonio contratto con Michele Pierri, dottore in pensione con aspirazioni poetiche, con cui si trasferisce a Taranto, la poetessa trova nuovamente il giusto modo e spazio per la sua espressione artistica.
In seguito ad un internamento presso l’ospedale psichiatrico di Taranto, decide di tornare a Milano, ove inizia a frequentare il caffè letterario e libreria, Chimera, situato poco distante dalla sua abitazione sui Navigli. Sono gli anni più fecondi dal punto di vista letterario. Offre agli amici del caffè la sua produzione, i suoi dattiloscritti.
Ma ampia è la produzione di Alda Merini e molti sono gli attori che entrano in scena, fra i quali ad esempio Alberto Casiraghi, che illustra nel 1999 “Aforismi e magie”.
Alberto Casiraghi, amico, poeta ed editore, dà vita ad una raccolta di piccoli libri, i “Pulcinoelefante”, in cui Alda esprime la sua nuova forma di espressione artistica, l’aforisma, più breve ed incisivo.
Una vita intensa, vissuta fra alti e bassi, in Paradiso e all’Inferno, che si conclude il 1° Novembre 2009 all’età di 78 anni, consacrandola la “poetessa dei navigli”.
