Giosetta Fioroni, figlia di artisti (il padre scultore, la madre pittrice) nasce, cresce e si forma a Roma, presso l’Accademia delle Belle Arti.
Segue i corsi del maestro Toti Scialoja e da allora il suo percorso la porta ad essere una degli esponenti di maggior spicco della scena artistica italiana.
Giosetta Fioroni per questa sua raccolta di disegni si è fatta ispirare da “La comédie humaine” di Honoré de Balzac da cui ha deliberatamente preso il titolo.
Il campione umano rappresentato è frutto della sua personale osservazione ed esperienza, fatta per le vie della città di Roma.
Come Honoré de Balzac che nella sua comédie humaine aveva l’ambizione, la volontà di descrivere la società che lo circondava, analizzandola sotto diversi punti di vista, allo stesso modo Giosetta Fioroni fa con i suoi disegni.
Le illustrazioni hanno carattere caricaturale e sono realizzate con la penna stilografica e l’inchiostro di china nero.
Il risultato è chiaramente e volutamente grottesco.
Ad accompagnare le illustrazioni poche righe descrittive che sembrano quasi vergate a mano. Anche queste sono dirette, senza filtro, alle volte taglienti.
Troviamo ad esempio il “vecchio gibboso e deforme a piazza Cairoli”; la ” Ultraobesa con piedini e manine”; la “turista (occhistorti) discinta con nero”.
L’intento di Giosetta è proprio quello di descrivere la varietà umana in modo onesto, senza preconcetti, quasi infantile.
E ci riesce perfettamente perché la varietà umana rappresentata è familiare ciascuno di noi.
Un libro che colpisce, che non passa inosservato.
